Mid-Century Speaker

With hints of Art Deco and Mid-century Modern inspiration in the recent Streamline prototype, we were curious to dig a bit deeper and explore the latter— the result: a distinctly retro styled console speaker design that transports you back to a time when tiki cocktails were flowing at hip party pads… know what I mean, Daddy-Os and Sisters.

Using the same incredibly musical components as in the boxier Streamline, we’ve reconfigured the 100 watt speaker driver array horizontally for this Mid-Century speaker giving it a classic low-slung stance. In doing so, the cabinet body height is reduced down to an elegant 8 inches tall, while the width extends for an exciting & dynamic contrasting aspect ratio (shown above in black walnut). The solid body is then securely floated above its surface with 2.5” tall iconic tapered & flared legs (shown above in white birch).

In regards to the audio, many “all-in-one” lifestyle systems with smaller form factors have little to no “soundstage,” an audiophile term representing the overall size of the stereo image we listen to. One advantage of this wider console design is that it accentuates distinct left and right channels spread out across to the far sides of the face. This also makes the new Mid-Century speaker a great solution for a sound bar placed underneath a wall-hung wide screen TV.

And boy-oh-boy, it sure would be keen to have some tight bass thumping out for a complete theater-quality movie experience. Well, how about a down-firing 6.5” mini-subwoofer (powered by additional 100 watts) hidden right behind the brushed brass atomic skull & knucklebones “H” logo. That’ll do it!

With built-in high definition 5.0 Bluetooth, plus an AUX-in for rock solid high quality analog inputs from any wired device like a turntable for spinning stacks of wax, or TV input for video sound, this groovy objet d’art is the definition of versatility. Other features include a rear-facing panel filled with a slick Les Paul guitar knob on the main volume control, a treble tone control for the front speakers to shape the highs frequencies, and a separate subwoofer dial to control how much “BOOM!” you add to the room.
