Barware comes in a bazillion shapes & sizes— way too many to choose from. To make it easy for you, we’ve hand-selected a few of our all-time favorite iconic glasses that are perfect for your homemade cocktails, craft beers & everyday beverages.
15 oz. Tall Zombie Glass
In the 1940s and 50s, "tiki culture" was in full swing with its exotically decorated bars & restaurants offering patrons a fantastical escape to the tropical regions of the once mysterious islands of the South Pacific. With motifs of beautiful scenery, forbidden love and the potential for danger, mixologists were free to create exciting cocktails like the “Zombie” which was invented in 1934 at the legendary O.G. tiki bar called Don the Beachcomber. The Zombie now lends its name to this style of glass with its tall, but narrow stance.
Great for…
Fun fruit-forward tropical cocktails (a.k.a. tiki drinks) where you want to make an impression showing off slices of freshly-cut pineapple, melon & other garish garnishes— it’s a tall glass for reason, use it or lose it!
Everyday non-alcoholic refreshers— with 15 oz. of capacity, you got lots of room for ice to cool down your favorite summer lemonades, spritzers, or most any other day-drinks.
Cocktails Include: Zombie, Mai Tai, Gin Fizz, Gin Rickey, Gimlet, Gin & Tonic, Mojito, SubLime Citrus Margarita
12 oz. Double Old Fashioned
The “Old Fashioned” is said to be the world’s first cocktail, but in many ways, it is so simple in fact that back in the mid-19th century, it became more of a “style” of drink, than a specific recipe. It wasn’t until 1880 that The Chicago Tribune printed and defined it as an “old-fashioned cocktail.” The name was inspired by the many drinkers who refused to change with the times and ordered their drinks the old fashioned way— simply with a brown spirit, sugar, water and bitters. In general, the glass itself is as ubiquitous as the cocktail with its basic low sides and wide stance. A classic, yet modern interpretation for a like cocktail that has become the transcendent concoction of our times.
Great for…
There are as many derivations of the “Old-Fashioned” as there bartenders in the world, and this iconic glass works perfectly for all of them!
Generously-sized Cocktails Include: Old Fashioned, Negroni, Mint Julep, Sazerac, Manhattan, Go-Go-Grapefruit Cocktail
7 oz. Classic Rocks Glass
Before we began super-sizing everything from Happy Meals® to Double Big Gulps®, we used to show a refreshing amount of restraint when it came to portion control. This 7oz. rocks glass is very traditional for how spirits were consumed for centuries.
Great for…
This lovely little glass, in some ways, is the perfect size for BOTH an appropriately-sized cocktail for your evening guests, and also any straight spirit served “neat” or with a single “rock”.
Traditionally-sized Cocktails Include: Old Fashioned, Negroni, Mint Julep, Sazerac, Manhattan, Go-Go-Grapefruit Cocktail
16 oz. Belgian Tulip Beer Glass
After several years of creating & producing the largest craft beer + culinary pairing events in the country, we’ve most certainly tasted a number of incredible craft beers. And while there are a plethora of “proper” glasses for said beers, our very favorite is the classically curvaceous Belgian Tulip, with its large open body designed to accentuate the full complexity & aroma of each beer it holds. Glasses are designed with Heinsenfolg Script on front and matching Atomic Skull & Knucklebone “H” icon on back. Top of glass is rimmed with matched gilding of 22 Carat Gold or Pure Palladium.
Great for…
Passionate brewers & zymurgy history buffs may disagree, but the Belgian Tulip is a great shape for any style of quality beer! My partner and I have at least a dozen variously-shaped beer glasses in our house, but this is the glass I personally reach for most of the time when I really want to savor a special craft of imported beer.
